Hi Ryan, Zanzibar and Dar es Salaam are well protected by several naval forces. No chances are taken by venturing off away from the umbrella of national and international forces. Tourism is very alive and well. It is the lifeblood of Zanzibar. The piracy is deep water far away and they target big ships in the shipping channel. We hug the islands very closely, however if the need arises we have immediate emergency support in minutes, including aerial reconnaissance if requested.
Hope it's not too close to pirate hotspots!
